Fresh Ho Jao!

Posted by a fan as ads, india

Yet another favorite ad. Mainly because of the music and the childish concept!

Limca Fresh ho Jao commercial has been brought to life by Ravi Udyawar of Ravi Udyawar Productions and has been conceptualized by Anindya Banerjee of Ogilvy and Mather. The outstanding soundtrack has been provided by Anandh R with lyrics by Swanand Kirkires. The singer is Cara lisa Monterio.

And the male model is Niketan madhok :)

Below video is cool as it plays the same ad twice…

Hindi version of Lyrics —

fuharre…..

bochare……

nazare churalona….

kuch bunde churalona,

dabi si zindagi se,

ruki si zindagi se,

kuch lamhe churalona….

kuch yaddein,

aur sapne.. apne churalona,

rukhi si zindagi se,

thaki si zindagi se,

raftaar churalona

—————————–

And here is the English version —

drizzles…

downpours…

steal these scenes…

steal some drops.

from this burdened life,

from this static life,

steal some moments…

some memories,

and dreams… ours - steal ‘em too

from this burdened life,

from this listless life,

steal some pace

And here is a good writeup about this ad.

Reclaim your life

This post was typed on April 8th, this year…

————————————————————

This is one of my fav ads…The dialogue lines are amazing..

I always wanted to quit on monday morning.

I always wanted to chase the rain.

I always wanted to swim with the whales.

I always wanted to take a one year trip around the world.

I always wanted to…

The real sad one is the pregnant lady…For a woman, life is changed forever after marriage and it is a rebirth after becoming a mother!

————————————————————————————————————-

And this is typed today.

Regarding myself, i think i just did the first thing now…and i am wondering whether i did an insane stuff :)

i do have one offer, but i haven’t signed and sent the confirmation back yet.

and i have asked this friday as last day…because my friends are going on a 10 day backpack trip to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and few more places, starting 14th evening. i want to join them.

so, i am not going to have 3 weeks of this month salary…i am going to spend quite an amount on this trip…i still haven’t confirmed the job…i have to shift my location as the new job is in a new city…i haven’t told my parents yet but my brother knows…

and now, when i sit and type this post, guess i am thinking sanely :)

see, this is what happens when one wants to do something so desperately but never gets to do due to all sort of reasons…one fine day, every single reason is overlooked and end up like this :) :)

So, in all this, i think i have followed the below line…

“Sometimes life is about gambling and the smart gambler plans his way out

before setting in”

Hope whoever is reading this post, wishes me goodluck :)

Vote!

Posted by a fan as Vote, ads, india

I was filling up a form at my desk.

My colleague cum friend came to my desk. She enquired about the form. I replied that it was for Voter ID Card. Then i asked her whether she had a Voter ID Card. She replied,”I don’t believe in this voting and stuff. This is all junk”.

Immediately, i remembered our heated argument about Hindi Language. It was the same person who said that as an Indian one should know the National Language of India. And now as an Indian, she didn’t believe in Voting! I was tempted to question her with this comparison. Didn’t ask her so bluntly because i was sure it would be quite hurtful. Later during lunch,i asked her whether she had casted her vote anytime. And the answer was No. I then told her that even i couldn’t vote last time without Voter ID Card.

Frankly, i had quite a respect for her after she argued so much for National Language (it even prompted me to think about Learning Hindi from a Patriotic perspective :)). And now her reply about Voting did cast a doubt! Ok, it might be wrong on my part to quickly jump to a conclusion. But couldn’t help it!!

Anyway, i am prompted to write this after seeing a celebrity video about “(No) Vote” in US elections in a blog…

Even in India, TataTea has been supporting a similar campaign - Jaago Re! One Billion Votes

I am not sure to what extent this will motivate our fellows to cast their vote. Infact the number of registered users is also only in 5 digits in the site.

The ads are quite inspirational…but it’s not shown in all channels and also it is still not shown in regional languages in regional channels.(or is it shown and i haven’t seen?)

Below are the ads,

A Guy interviews the Politician,

My favourite- To awaken the non sleeping crowd :)

Swarna/ charlie|thotti, this Link, NRI Voting Rights is for you…

hmm…two years ago, i didn’t know that one day Swarna will come under NRI category :)

Hope the inevitable doesn’t happen!

Gandhi

Posted by a fan as Gandhi, ads

Of all the things Gandhi has done to this country, i want to thank him the most for his birthday ;):) that too when it falls on a weekday ;)

Anyway, nowadays i wish he were born again in India…Ofcourse, he seemed to have done too many good things to deserve Moksha ;)

Or maybe, is it better that he’s not here?

Or maybe, if he had born in US and if he had prevented a hegemonical US, i wonder how the world would’ve been?! I don’t know what was his thoughts on Capitalism! Well, even the thought of Gandhi being born again anywhere other than India doesn’t sound right though!!

btw, i am not a Gandhian…because, first one should know about Gandhian thoughts for that! Although, nowadays, i do wonder that maybe Violence can never really bring any change, it can only transform the existing problem into a different one… maybe thatswhy he resorted towards Non-violence!

Also i do believe in his thoughts of an individual being self sufficient, fasting (for a selfish cause ;)) and a spartan lifestyle (latest inspiration due to credit crunch ;))

And this is a very thoughtful line from him, although kind of inspired from Jesus…

“An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind”

BTW, here is an innovative ad from Telecom Italia Gandhi,

The last few lines are “How would be the world now, if he could have communicate in this way? Telecom Italia. Communication is life.”

Concept is great…but the background music could’ve been better!

And here is the full excerpt of that Speech…It isn’t too impressive…

Still, maybe one can read it once, atleast for the holiday sake ;)

Also, got to know the below ad through a blog,

http://adsoftheworld.com/media/print/morgenavisen_jyllandsposten_ghandi?size=_original

I didn’t find the ad impressive.

Because the ad doesn’t fit the tagline,”Life is easier, if you don’t speakup”.

If Gandhi was barbecuing and having Beer , he wouldn’t be dressed like that. Also, there is no need to resort to the fact that people won’t recognize him in anything other than Dhoti…his spectacles are enough…

From that perspective, i fully agree with the below comment mentioned in the site,

“This ad would be a lot more subtle (and powerful) if it showed Gandhi walking the streets of London in winter in a suit.”

Nike Ad

Posted by a fan as ads

The truth is, i am not a great Youtube viewer…Eventhough,i consider it to be waste of time, the real reason might be the wonderful 75kps Broadband connection which i have…i know, many might wonder why i am using a stone age speed, it is part of measures taken to overcome my Credit crunch situation (although,my brother confidently proclaims that it is yet another “Penny wise, Pound foolish” act on my part!)

still, i am happy that it’s an opportunity to not get addicted to Youtube!

because look at these 2 comscore reports…27 million people watched Online video in UK and Americans viewed more than 11.4 billion videos for a total duration of 558 million hours during July. I think this is good in one way, because this might imply all their jobs are outsourced and they have free time :)

Now coming to the Topic, this is yet another amazing ad….

For the very few Youtube videos i have seen, i never read comments. But,i read the comments of this ad to know the ad details.

As per the comments, the language is Goan-Konkani.

The singer is Lorna and the album is called Unforgettable hits and the track is “Bebdo”.

And lyrics is,

Rav Patrao Rav - Lyrics in Goan Konkani

Rav patrao rav

Khelu mhaka di muntao

Khelu maka di na zhalya

Tuze photelle toklao

Kheluch amche osle

Kednanch raunk nasle

Undeer-Maazraache khelu kosle

Maka bhogta oslen

Arre maaroon, dhoroon, phodoon

Saiba noshib mozhe phoslen

Rav Patrao Rav - translation

Wait, partner, wait

I ask you to let me play.

If you don’t let me play,

I’ll keep bugging you (hit your head)

Our game is

Where we have no time to think

It’s a game of cat and mouse

That I love

And in the hitting, holding, and breaking

My destiny is entwined

One of my favourite Maruti ads…

Here is a blog entry with Maruti company release regarding the ad theme and creation.

There is also an ad regarding Fuel efficiency of Maruti, in which a kid keeps on driving his toy car everywhere and when his father asks him to stop it, he replies that the petrol is not getting over :)
A real classic one. (somewhat like A.R.Rehman’s music… one has to

Fav ad

I keep wondering why i like this ad so much…is it because of the violin music or because of the guy in the ad? :)

Still remember the day when my friend was forced to watch this ad amidst my exclaimed explanation. All she was interested, was in the violin music and the violin…after all, she was(or is?) an emerging violin player ;)

Anyway, when many ads are trying to drown the viewers with so many words, this is one exceptional example!

hmm…while thinking about words, I am reminded of the song in Notting Hill, “You say it best, when you say nothing at all” :) (i wonder whether the song writer wrote it in a real sense or with a hope that his girlfriend might follow it ;) )

MirindAAAAAAA…….

Posted by Shanky as Marketing, ads, freebie, mirinda, pepsi, tropicana

Nowadays, competition in the market is very fierce. It is so fierce that companies are ready to throw anything at their customers to retain them and to attract new ones. During mid 90s, if my memory is good, is when all this freebie war started. I always wanted complan for the frisbee that they gave. I wont deride the companies or their marketing experts for this. In fact, I like they way they play it!

Whenever I think of my future, I think about marketing first. I like marketing, I like ads, I have few ideas that can be used as well.. but shhhh… This post is not for that. I recently saw this Mirinda offer. Where they offered mirinda and Tropicana together for 30 bucks instead of 45 bucks. Now… not so weird isn’t it? for a cola company to give away another product from its brand as a combo. Many companies do that, at least during the winter.

What stumped me was the real proposition of the deal. Tropicana is priced at Rs 15 and Mirinda at Rs 30. So essentially they are giving Tropicana free for Mirinda. Again, thats a fair deal isn’t it? But there is more to it! Usually all these offers, discounts are made to lure customers. And ad campaigns are designed/shot/worded to convince the buyer that it is the best deal. With little bit of people thinking that I know, I think it was logical to announce: Get Tropicana free with every Mirinda purchase” (May be I am wrong). But why did they not do it? which according to me is the best thing to do. Intriguing!!!

I could think of only two reasons:

1. My perception that the word “FREE” attracts people is wrong

2. PEPSICO did not want to downplay Tropicana as a freebie.

If any of you know a better answer, please put in your comments.
