Miami Dade College in Miami, FloridaLooking for a music college in Florida? Miami Dade College is a sprawling public college system that boasts more than 160,000 students at eight different campuses throughout the Miami area. The School of Entertainment and Design Technology offers an Associate of Science degree in music business with three possible areas of emphasis: music business management, creative performance and creative production. All areas of study lead to detailed knowledge of important music business practices, including marketing, copyright management and consumer research, making this a top music college for the South Florida area.

Houston Community College System in Houston, TexasHouston’s community college district maintains six campuses throughout the city and in several suburbs. Its size makes it the second-largest music college in the country. The goal of HCC is both to prepare students for going on to 4-year institutions and to provide them with the technical training they need to seek rewarding employment in the music industry. The Department of Music offers associate degrees designed to ready students for bachelor’s degree programs at Texas universities. Students at this music college develop their knowledge of performance, theory, music appreciation and instruments.

North Harris Montgomery Community College District (Lone Star College) in Greater Houston, TexasNorth Harris Montgomery Community College District, the nation’s third-largest music college, operates five colleges and a baccalaureate university center throughout the greater Houston, Texas, metropolitan area. The colleges, now known as Lone Star College, enroll more than 40,000 students altogether. Students at Lone Star music college can earn an Associate of Arts degree with a transfer curriculum for music, which prepares them for pursuing Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts in Music and related degrees at 4-year colleges and universities.
