My face is calm. It is peaceful. No signs of the turmoil. No indication of the storm. Raging inside me. I am angry. Very angry. Very angry.
I am beyond the questions. They have betrayed me. I want to shout. No, scream. But, I just took a resolution. I will stay calm. Yes, I will stay calm. My face is calm. It is peaceful. No signs of the turmoil. No indication of the storm. Raging inside me.
The flashbulbs will go off. Without me. The newspapers will talk. Not about me. A household name. Not me. It’s seething inside me. But I will stay calm. I need to. For their sake at least. Why should I be the gentleman. I hate them. I hate them. I hate them. Their living guts. And all you fuckers too. Fuck you all. Fuck You……
I am angry. I promised to stay calm. I am calm. Can I be calm. I’ll meet those phoneys. I’ll be calm. My face is calm. It is peaceful. No signs of the turmoil. No indication of the storm. Raging inside me.

On New Year’s eve…
Posted by S as Thought a lot wrote a bit
… we decided to go away from the city’s frenzy and noise and headed out on a road-trip to Kanchipuram. We left early morning and returned late in the afternoon. And as usual, there were so many things I noticed and that came to my attention!
-the National highways authority of India deserves much credit for developing such world class roads and introducing the lane system here. The roads are wonderful! And as always there’s the exception to the praise. This time it’s the people who use them. Someone really has to teach people how to travel on highways. I noticed so many cars switching lanes and crossing paths with other cars so casually. The slow moving Lorries and huge buses make things only more complicated. Why can’t they just stick to one lane and not bother everyone else?! I doubt if this sort of erratic lane systems would make driving on highways any safe at night!
-I saw so many colleges on my way. And many of my friends study there. So the first thing that struck me when I saw those colleges was just how these people travel so much everyday?! In hostel, one might miss the luxuries and other things that staying at home offers, but the travel would more than make up for it I guess. I just can’t imagine myself traveling for 3 hours everyday and sleeping all evening with tiredness taking over my entire day. Sounds like an utter waste of time, energy and health. Again, it reminds me of how blessed some of us are.
-there was one temple that I visited in Kanchipuram where the idols of a gold and a silver lizard were being worshipped as God! My initial reaction was that of disgust. I drive lizards away whenever I see them at home and their sight makes me want to scream repulsively. It took a lot from me to touch the feet of the lizard and pray. I later read the story behind the lizards and felt better later on. Every action has an explanation in mythology was what I understood that morning!
With those little lessons and a day loaded with learnings, I began my New Year as I got back home appreciating and happy for everything that God has given me.

3G’s - Ghajini, Goodbye, Guilt
Posted by KRA as FuN 'n' CoLL, Personal, Ramblings, chennai, timepass
Here goes my post on the 3G’s viz. Ghajini - a well hyped hindi movie (ripped from its tamil counterpart), Goodbye 2008 - how i bid the year 2008 adios, and Guilt - Hey, wait a sec, this can also be GPA you know
Yesterday (31st Dec 2008), i had a gala time with friends. Went for a the movie Ghajini(hindi) at Sathyam Cinemas, and to KFC@Spencer plaza for lunch. The treat (movie + lunch) was hosted by Shankar,GD and Algae. Kudos! to you guys! Thanks for that awesome treat. It was good to meet college friends after a long and boring winter break
And some juice about the movie. I felt the tamil version of Ghajini was a lot better! Even though Asin has done justice to both tamil and hindi movie, the hindi version lacks the original charm. Well, the climax has been changed considerably, without which the the hindi version would not have been upto any good than a tamil-to-hindi dubbing! But overall, some of the numbers were cool enough to keep my lips busy for a couple of days now
Sad that i could’nt see my 5th sem results last year itself. It has brought me into a stage of sadness and madness in this beautiful new year of 2009. I know its a crucial year for me, i would reap what i sow in this year! So, thats got to be planned well. And as for the grades, just forget it! i knew i blew it this time… arrgh! man, i feel like kicking some ppls ass (including mine.. LOL)
But anyway, looking forward to a brighter and more challenging year ahead. And i wish my readers a VERY HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2009

The name says it all. Israeli energy company ‘Innowattech’ has created a new type of road that generates electricity as cars drive on it. Here’s the tech talk:
The supercharged surface is embedded with piezoelectric crystals, which transform kinetic energy from passing vehicles into an electrical current. With widespread adoption, the technology could feed energy back into the nation’s burgeoning electric vehicle grid, transforming congested roadways into a clean green source of energy.

The amount of electricity produced isn’t that much (400 kilowatts per kilometer or 645/mi), and there’s no mention on how cost effective it would be. But given the sheer amount of roadways present, it’s an interesting albeit niche approach to generate electricity.
Don’t you think technology is cool? What do you have to offer? Get over to NIT Trichy between the 12th and 15th of February and dive into the future with Pragyan ‘09!

>> Chaos Communication Congress

To all you cyber techies out there! You think you’re good at hacking? Then take a look at this: hackers have completely broken SSL using 200 PS3s. A team of security researchers and academics has broken a core piece of internet technology. They made their work public at the 25th Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin today. The team was able to create a rogue certificate authority and use it to issue valid SSL certificates for any site they want. The user would have no indication that their HTTPS connection was being monitored/modified.
And, for those who want more details, read on below..
This attack is possible because of a flaw in MD5. MD5 is a hashing algorithm; each unique file has a unique hash. In 2004, a team of Chinese researchers demonstrated creating two different files that had the same MD5 hash. In 2007, another team showed theoretical attacks that took advantage of these collisions. The team focused on SSL certificates signed with MD5 for their exploit.
The first step was doing some broad scans to see what certificate authorities (CA) were issuing MD5 signed certs. They collected 30K certs from Firefox trusted CAs. 9K of them were MD5 signed. 97% of those came from RapidSSL.
Having selected their target, the team needed to generate their rogue certificate to transfer the signature to. They employed the processing power of 200 Playstation 3s to get the job done. For this task, it’s the equivalent of 8000 standard CPU cores or $20K of Amazon EC2 time. The task takes ~1-2 days to calculate. The tricky part was knowing the content of the certificate that would be issued by RapidSSL. They needed to predict two variables: the serial number and the timestamp. RapidSSL’s serial numbers were all sequential. From testing, they knew that RapidSSL would always sign six seconds after the order was acknowledged. Knowing these two facts they were able to generate a certificate in advance and then purchase the exact certificate they wanted. They’d purchase certificates to advance the serial number and then buy on the exact time they calculated.
The cert was issued to their particular domain, but since they controlled the content, they changed the flags to make themselves an intermediate certificate authority. That gave them authority to issue any certificate they wanted. All of these ‘valid’ certs were signed using SHA-1.

Elevation Tag Not Visible
Posted by Nicholas Iyadurai as TAG, Tips, visible
Another quirkiness in Revit.
Here is a simple project, with a cropped view. Two of the elevation tags are missing.
When I uncrop the view, the elevation tag show up like:
The elevation tags themselves are within the crop boundary. When I select the triangle of the elevation tag, Revit shows the elevation cut line and extent that are lying outside the crop boundary like:
Ironically, this happens irrespective of the annotation crop boundary, for eg.:
Also, if the Elevation cut plane extends beyond the annotation crop, but the no problem – Revit still shows it.
The Lesson:
The elevation tag will show as long as its cut plane cuts through the view crop boundary. (this is the same as other views) The cutline itself is not affected by the annotation crop boundary. (But the elevation tag is affected by the annotation crop boundary)
One has to move the elevation cut plane so that it passes through the view boundary to make the elevation tag visible.
