Sentiments Rule!

Its really strange how some people (usually girls) react to sentiments. Here is a very funny and stupid incident that happened long time ago. Now let me give u the background. This guy (ma fren) was a very very close friend to another girl (also me friend.I know this sounds stupid but anyway…) So there was this time when they decided to chat on line at about 5 in the evening. Everything was just perfect. At about 3pm in the afternoon the guy got a text message from her that she couldn’t come because she was tired after her daily work or something. Now our hero was a real rascal and he comes up with a brilliant idea. He just wanted to pass time and knew what a sentimental idiot she was… Well this is the text conversation that follows…
GUY: Hey! wat hppnd y u ignoring me???
GIRL:Hey no i’m sorry cant come…pl undt
GUY: Hmmmm i can undt…now i know ur attitude toward mee…u know that i cant come online after this…y u doin dis to me…
GIRL: Hey nooo… nothin lik dat…
GUY: Y r u acting frenship to me… i know u wont giv a damn bout me…this always happens i’m a looser u keep avoiding me (Btw he isnt such a person to whom u’d giv a damn about)
GIRL: Hey pl try to undt da…u know bout me…
GUY: Yeah yeah i know bout u…u think im and idiot and stuff… u always do this to me…
GIRL: (A bit upset) What did i doo???
GUY:(As usual in a sick way!) u wont know mah value…i’m texting with tears in ma eyes (ROFL!)
GIRL: (Almost in tears) oh no but u know i cant na….
GUY: (Now this 1 is my personal favourite he’s sort of said “heaven” instead of “hell” just for the “effect” he later remarked…here goes)
U wont realise ma importance da until i die!!! never ever even after i go to hell!!! (Straight to the showpiece… phew!)
GIRL: (Dats it she couldnt take it anymore) Ok fyn…5:00pm gtalk!
GUY: 
Well i dont know y she obliged eventually maybe outta sheer concern or maybe to make the sick idiot wailing guy shut up. Anyways, the guy got what he wanted (A good long chat with her) and what he deserved (A good 180 degree slap when they met in their school reunion)!!!

I wait everyday till 8.00 in the office even if there is no work. All of my teammates ask me why; how can I tell them that I don’t wait for any personal or official work but the only reason why I wait is the ’secretary’- a girl in my 8.00 p.m. Chinchwad bus. ‘Secretary’ is not her real name, it’s sort of a code name given to her by me and my friends. Truly speaking, I like her. She might not be one of those who look like Aishwarya Rai or Preitty Zinta, but she is cute and simple and that’s the reason I like her. For past 6 months I have been staring at her in the bus, while going to office and coming back from the office. When I get into bus, somehow my eyes search the whole bus just to have her glimpse.
I never had a girlfriend till now, not that I don’t like to have friendship with girls but somehow they usually prefer tall-dark-handsome qualities in their boyfriends, out of which I possess none. I don’t want to jump to any relationship like this with the secretary but at least just a friendship, is it possible?
I want to talk to her. I want to have friendship with her. I know her name, for I had seen her ID card one day. But I don’t have the guts to talk to her. I even don’t know whether she knows me even by face. I know, no one can help me here; no-one other than myself, but I simply have no guts. At least someone probably a common friend, might at least formally introduce us to each other.
SHE:
There is one guy in my office bus. His name is Niranjan. I think he likes me, for me and even my friends have observed him many times staring at myself. Even when he gets into the bus, rather than searching for an empty seat, his eyes search the whole bus for me. Don’t know why but I kind of like it. Sometimes the feeling of knowing that someone loves you is far better than actually loving somebody. I didn’t have any affair till today, not that I didn’t like or love anyone, there was a guy in my college, whom I liked a lot but somehow he stayed away from me, not that he didn’t like me but probably because I am not that beautiful and he wanted someone much more better than me.
This guy, Niru, that’s what his friends call him, I had heard it once in the bus; he seems to be interested in me, not sure about love as such but friendship might not be bad. At least the guy seems to be descent one. I would like to be his friend, but how can I go forward? Afterall he is the boy, he should come one step ahead …not me.
P.S: This is a forward which i received from my colleague and which Iam putting up for other’s enjoyment. So he(Ashu) as my first point of contact , gets the credit. Any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely unhoped for… :)

Bug in Orkut

Though there are several bugs in Orkut, I found this one hilarious. The number of videos is shown as -1 (which is never possible). It comes up right in your face and its a glaring mistake (must be a bug in one of their mutual exclusion algorithms used for keeping the count when something is added/deleted). Found this in a profile of someone whom I dont know.. So I dont have the repro steps with me :) So if some google guy is reading this, you know what to do.. :)

“Come Dance With me Before You Go”

This song appears in Dasavatharam and when u look at the Promo video screened it has no resemblance to any of the story lines and the “Come Dance with me Before you Go”— I think tht turned some bulb on in my head and then i checked out few site and they had the same notion.This song is something like a Behind Screen Work to show the way different charaters and their make up which comes at the end of the movie. And KSR Dances in this one !!!!

Bugs in Screenlets - My first attempt

I had earlier written about screenlets in my blog few days ago which you can find here. And when i started using few of them , i found tht some of them had silly bugs like the clock showing some wrong time and the battery meter not displaying the correct status.
These are not vista like gadgets which run on some dll files. these are open source ones and were written using python. So last night when i thought of studying for comp Arch , this idead struck me. “Why not rectify these errors ” .So i sat down before my comp. and tried to understand the python source codes an finally came out with solutions and woohaa !!! they really work fine now..
So tht was my first outing of contributing back to open source(though i have not distributed them back). So if any body needs the correct code for the ACPI Battery Screenlet and the Clock Screen let. do mail me at sathya.phoenix@gmail.com
